Keep Pressing On

Do not be focused on past failures or successes,
instead be focused on finishing strong for the Lord.
Philippians 3:10-21

Apostle Paul completely surrendered his old identity
and embraced his new identity in Christ.
He did not live in the past... he plowed ahead.
Paul kept pressing on to finish strong for the Lord....
He focused on being found in Jesus Christ in every area
of his life.

Have you ever been sidetrack in your walk with the Lord
by dwelling on past failures or successes?
We need to intimately and passionately keep pressing on.
The finish line is just ahead... I can almost see it.

  1. Paul, this reminds me of the desciples who went out and spent the whole night fishing and they caught nothing, then the next day Jesus told them to go to the same place and throw the net to the right of the ship, and they caught so many it filled two ships. They did not dwell on the failure of the past, but heard the voice of Jesus, and they cast out and ended up receiving exceedingly abundantly more than they could ask or imagine.

I want to live that way, listen to where Jesus is leading, and obey His directions and not dwell on past failures or successes, but accomplish for today what He wants done today and I can see His faithfulness as He continues to draw people to Himself and He is building His church on the foundation of His Word. I praise God for those who are ministering in our church as they hold fast boldly to the Word of God. We will be successful if we trust the teaching of the Word just as the desciples caught those fish with the net, we need to catch those who are lost with the Word which goes out with power.
